New MB thank Hasni for 'giving space to younger generation' to lead Johor
SHAH ALAM - Newly sworn-in Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has thanked his predecessor Datuk Hasni Mohammad for "giving space to the younger generation" to lead the state.
Hasni, the Johor Barisan Nasional chairman, was the Menteri Besar nominee throughout the campaign trail.
“The sacrifice he made by giving space to the younger generation to lead the state not only shows how big his heart is, but also proves that he believes in our ability to lead.
“I will always seek advice from him for he has much more experience than I do,” he said in his Facebook posting today (March 15).
He hoped that the combination of experienced leaders with the idealism of the younger leaders will help strengthen the state of Johor further.
The 43-year old also said he will go all out to fulfill promises made by the winning coalition Barisan Nasional (BN).
He further thanked Johor Sultan, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, for appointing him as the 19th Johor Menteri Besar.
