Covid-19: Malaysia recorded 72 fatalities, 23,720 new positive cases

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia reported another 72 deaths due to Covid-19, including 59 brought-in-dead cases in the last 24 hours, according to data published by the Health Ministry.

This brings the death toll from the disease here to 34,244 people.

Malaysia also recorded 23,720 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which marks a slight less compared to 27,004 cases the previous day.

Currently, there are 296,366 active cases with 7,600 being hospitalised.

Out of that number, 383 are being treated in intensive care units with 222 of them requiring respiratory assistance.

The Health Ministry also recorded 26,615 recoveries as of yesterday.

To date, Malaysia has recorded 3,920,575 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
