SHAH ALAM - Foreshadowing an early 15th General Election (GE15) that could happen within the year, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he is willing to dissolve parliament as soon as possible, provided BN is confident that they could win.

In his winding-up speech as Umno’s vice president during the party’s annual general assembly held at the World Trade Centre today, Ismail said he will discuss with the party’s leadership, its top five leaders, on when is best to call for an election.

“For the past few days, I have listened to you all and understand what the demands are.

"If it is agreed, I along with the president, deputy president, the other vice presidents or the top 5 of the party will discuss this issue.

“Insyallah after the top five have discussed, we will bring it to the supreme council to discuss it. Insyallah we are all here because we want BN to be dominant again.

“If we are confident that we could win then we will not wait one second to dissolve parliament and call for GE15,’’ he said to a roaring crowd of Umno delegates.

Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in his winding-up speech have also expressed hope that this year's party general assembly will the last one held before a general election is called.

"I am no fortune teller but referring to what the Prime Minister said, I hope this general assembly will be the last party general assembly before an election is called,'' he said.

Earlier in Zahid's speech, he has called for the party to embrace change or to set the standard and be a "game-changer" ahead of the election.

This is due to the change of the Malay mindset, who are more educated and cautious said Zahid.
