70 per cent of Johor exco comprises young leaders

SHAH ALAM - Seventy per cent of the Johor state executive councillors (exco) who took the oath of office today, are under the age of 40.

The line-up, said newly elected Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi comprised leaders of various races, taking into account gender balance which was a true reflection of “Bangsa Johor”.

“I believe that the newly appointed exco members will carry out their duties with dedication and integrity in the next five years of their service.

“At the same time, the new excos and I will try our best to fulfil the pledges made by Barisan Nasional in its campaigns during the recent Johor state election,” he said in a press conference at his official residence in Saujana, here, today.

He added that the line-up comprised a combination of leaders who were experienced and young knowledgeable leaders.

Onn Hafiz assured that the new exco members will do their best to ensure the well-being of the people of Johor with the help from the government, noting it would be challenging as the country is still battling with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also present were the 10 state assemblymen who sworn in as exco members before Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, earlier this morning.

The exco members who took their oath were Datuk Zahari Sarip (Buloh Kasap), Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor (Bukit Permai), K.Raven Kumar (Tenggaroh), Khairin Nisa Ismail (Serom), Mohd Hairi Mad Shah (Larkin) and Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid (Semerah).

Also sworn in were Ling Tian Soon (Yong Peng), Lee Ting Han (Paloh), Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh (Bukit Pasir) and Norliza Noh (Johor Lama).

Onn Hafiz who is also the Machap assemblyman sworn in as the 19th Johor Menteri Besar on March 15th.
