Govt to appoint another vendor if deal with MySJ fails

SHAH ALAM - Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the government will appoint another vendor if it failed to strike a fair deal with MySejahtera licence holder MySJ Sdn Bhd.

He said the government wished for the negotiations with the application operator to be resolved harmoniously.

This, he said was to ensure that the application which was initially offered by KPISoft Malaysia, now known as Entomo Malaysia Sdn Bhd, may continue to be accessed by over 38 million users of the application.

Khairy said the data collected by the application was still owned by the government.

“We are also determining what services that is still required in the long term. For example, the check-in feature. We might not need that anymore in the future,” he said.

Khairy also denied a local media report citing court documents which allegedly showed that Entomo Malaysia has agreed to transfer the MySejahtera intellectual property to MySJ for RM338.6 million in an agreement until 2025.

He added that this had nothing to do with the government’s negotiation.
