Home vaccination for elderly and OKU services available, Health Ministry says

SHAH ALAM - Health Ministry has announced its Home Vaccination for the elderly and persons with disabilities (OKU) services.

The programme, which involved ProtectHealth Corporation and Malaysian Red Crescent Society, was part of the government’s initiative to provide booster dose vaccination to the elderly before their full vaccination status changes.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said those who have difficulty going to the Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPV) can apply for the service via www.protecthealth.com.my, or call 1700-811-007 or 0126787911 (Whatsapp) or typing 'home vax' at @my_sejahtera.

“For the elderly and the disabled who have problems going to the PPV, you can apply for home vaccination through these platforms,” he posted on his account @dg_hisham today.

His tweet was followed by posters in both English and Malay languages to guide the people in need of this service and how to register for the programme.

On March 24, ProtectHealth confirmed a total of 15.5 million booster shots administered, of which 12 million (77.4 per cent) was by private medical practitioners and non-governmental organisations under its purview.

"We will continue to assist and cooperate with the Health Ministry to expedite the booster dose administration under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme (NIP) to ensure everybody is equipped with maximum protection against Covid-19," it said.
