Covid-19: New cases now at 13K mark, with 28 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia reports 13,328 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to data published by the Health Ministry (MoH).

This marks an increase of 1,410 cases from the previous day which marks 11,918 cases. Despite the slight uptick, new cases have stabilised below the 20,000 mark in recent days.

The nation also recorded another 28 fatalities due to Covid-19, including seven brought-in-dead cases.

This brings the death rate from the disease to 35,127 since the pandemic began.

Currently, active Covid-19 cases have reduced to below 200,000 with only 179,619 cases and out of that number, 3,622 were hospitalised while another 175,339 cases were quarantined at home.

A total of 236 cases were cared for in intensive care units (ICU), meanwhile, 140 of them required ventilator support.

MoH also recorded 23,302 patients who have recovered from the disease.
