PH youth urge police, MACC to probe land sale to build airport in Perak

IPOH - Pakatan Harapan (PH) Perak Youth (PH) has urged police and the graft busters for an immediate probe into the proposed land sale to build a new international airport in Seri Iskandar, here.

State Youth Chief, Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri said a thorough investigation is needed to bring those responsible to court.

"As a Malaysian and a taxpayer, I have the right to ensure financial decision by every state government is monitored and accounted for especially in land matters.

“I hope the police and Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) would start proceedings to probe land sale issue and disclose the findings to the people, " he told reporters after lodging a police report here.

Also present were Youth Leader Amanah Perak, Khairol Najib Hashim and DAP Youth Chief, Chaw Kam Foon.

Hairul. the Perak PKR youth chief said the report also urged the authorities to probe immediately.

“I believe the police and the MACC has the responsibility and authority to carry out an investigation on the land sale, "he said.

Previously, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad had urged people to lodge a police report over the issue.

The sale of the land for airport was first raised by Aulong Assemblyman Nga Kor Ming who claimed that the land was sold without the permission of the state government.

However, Saarani has said that it was sold during Pakatan Harapan's administration.
