Thunderstorms expected across the Peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak

SHAH ALAM - Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a bad weather alert today as thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds are expected to hit several states till 7pm today.

Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sarawak and Sabah has been advised to be on high alert.

It stated that thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds were expected in Perlis, Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, Baling and Kulim), and Perak (Larut, Matang, Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim),.

It was also expected in Kelantan (Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Pahang, Selangor (Hulu Selangor and Hulu Langat), Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin), and Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).

Meanwhile in West Malaysia,Sarawak (Simunjan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Bintulu, Miri and Subis), Sabah (Papar, Putatan, Penampang Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Kudat) were also expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds
