Just punishment await those who propagated fake internal documents, says Hadi

MARANG - Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang hopes the perpetrator who propagated a false document dubbed “Pas Leaks” will receive just punishment for their actions.

Abdul Hadi, who is also Pas president, said that the party will not entertain the document which he classified as a “surat layang” or a poison pen letter meant to damage Pas' image.

“We do not know who creat this surat layang. That is why we call it a surat layang. They will be answerable to god.

“And it was done in the month of Ramadan,’’ he said to reporters when met at his home here.

At the same time, Hadi said the issue is only being played by certain parties that he classified as “loyar buruk” (a Malay pejorative meaning terrible lawyer).

“No need to entertain this surat layang. If we do, we will all be lost.

“To me, only ‘loyar buruk’ entertains this letter because, from the legal perspective, this issue will not stick,’’ he said.

Commenting further Abdul Hadi said there is no need for him to make any denial on the letter because it was superseded by Pas vice president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar last Wednesday.

Abdul Hadi said the Pas Leaks issue has not disturbed party relations with their PN component partners.

“Ties with PN are the same. We always have discussions from the time to time in detail. We do not want to entertain this surat layang,’’ he said.

At the same time, Abdul Hadi said it is up to Umno to make a police report on the matter.

“Up to Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to make a police report because Pas remains with our stance not to entertain such issue,’’ he said.

This issue follows after an alleged document detailing plans by Pas to topple Umno and BN.

Two PN leaders namely Ahmad Samsuri and PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin have classified the document as false.

They also denied of internal talks to bring down Umno leaders as alleged by the documents.
