KUALA NERANG - The "big tent" strategy opted for by PH will not be an easy task to accomplish ahead of the 15th General election (GE15), said Umno vice president Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.

Regardless of their strategy, Mahdzir said Umno will make the necessary preparations to face such a challenge should it be accomplished ahead of GE15.

"In politics, there are also two things, one is that you never stop strategising and second, you often have to predict what could happen next or figure out all the possibilities.

"I think the 'big tent' strategy planned by PH to face the next election is not easy. If anything, we still consider it as a competition and we will face it,” he said at a press conference at the Padang Kerasak Community Center, Naka.

He said this after the Iftar Ceremony with Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) staff on Friday evening.

Commenting further, Mahdzir said, the opposition party will always look for ways to face the election and the 'big tent' strategy is part of it.

On Monday, the media reported that Amanah president Mohamad Sabu said that the ‘big tent’ concept proposed by PH earlier did not include establishing cooperation with the parties in the government whether it be Umno, Bersatu and Pas.
