SHAH ALAM - Surah Al-Sajdah gives guidance to Muslims and for leaders of the nation especially, it helps them be better and take action in helping those in need.

Malaysian Public Library Corporation (PPAS) director Datin Paduka Mastura Muhamad said leaders including heads of state, businessmen, husbands and wives, and parents need to help each other towards the well-being of society.

She said leaders are like the country's chief executive officer who needs trust to be able to carry out their responsibilities.

“Working in the field to help the community is not a gimmick just because they want something out of it in return. Whatever we do in this temporary world will be offered to Allah SWT.

“We need to prostrate a lot and submit to God the Almighty. As a leader in an organization as well as a family and an entrepreneur, be sure not to be greedy. If we are rich, we should not hoard.

“If doing business is not difficult, paying zakat, infaq, and wakaf should not be difficult for us either. We should help those in need, maybe even teach them how to do business and help themselves,” she told Sinar in conjunction with World #QuranHour today.

She emphasised that the economy is very important in society by using the companions as an example of the companions of the Prophet PBUH such as Abdul Rahman Auf and Saidina Usman Affan - both of whom were among the richest people at that time.

Part of their wealth was contributed to the development of the ummah (people).

Mastura said that PPAS fully supports the World #QuranHour programme under the Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) since 2015.

A total of 104 library branches and 43 agencies throughout the state will participate in the World #QuranHour programme on April 26.
