Major explosion rocks Sentul, 50 vehicles burnt

SHAH ALAM - Sentul residents were in for a shock this evening after a nearby-highrise building exploded, causing a panic among residents.

It is understood the building was a former police barracks and a fireworks disposal exercise overseen by the police.

Sinar Daily is awaiting comments from Sentul police chief Beh Eng Lai.

Social media users have posted videos of the blast, expressing shock.

Twitter handler Emma Yuliya said sirens were heard 10 minutes after the explosion. Other Twitter users expressed the incident as a "blast" and an "explosion".

The blast has so far injured three people and 50 cars damaged, according to The Vibes.

Quoting the Kuala Lumpur fire department, it said over 60 officers from five stations were at the scene along Jalan Perhentian.

It is understood the fire that took place at about 6.30 pm was brought under control by 7.04pm.
