Covid-19: 3,361 new cases, 14 deaths

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia records 3,361 new Covid-19 cases, yesterday, a slight uptick compared to 2,478 cases, the day before.

The new cases comprised 3,355 local cases and six imported cases.

Despite the slight increase in the new cases, the country also recorded 9,484 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Currently the total number of active cases stand at 61,871 out of which 60,162 were home quarantined while only 77 patients were being treated at the Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC).

However, only 2.5 per cent or 1,531 people were hospitalised, 0.1 per cent being treated in intensive care units (unventilated) and another 0.1 per cent requiring ventilator support.

The nation still recorded 14 new fatalities including one brought in dead case, bringing the total death toll since the pandemic began to 43,036.

Klang Valley and Selangor continue to have the highest daily infections with 3,568 and 2,978 cases respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases stands at 4,399,951
