SHAH ALAM - PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution is the perfect choice for party members to vote if they are looking for a party administrator, says Rafizi Ramli.

Both Saifuddin and Rafizi are gunning for the party's number 2 post when the party holds elections from May 13 to 22.

“If you need someone who wants to manage the party in terms of administration, you can choose Saifuddin. He is the longest-serving general secretary of the party, after all.

“If the party members feel PKR as it is now will bring victory to the party, then that is what needs to be done when casting votes later,” he said.

However, Rafizi questioned if focusing solely on administrative issues will fulfil people's aspirations after the party lost in 4 state elections - Johor, Malacca, Sabah and Sarawak.

“If PKR voters can feel the pulse of the people who have decided in the last 4 elections that they want to see PKR become more aggressive and return to the path of reformation, that is to fight for change in the process and system of the country, do you think focusing only on administrative issues will bring about aggressive approach (changes)?,” he said.

He said this during the Berani Semuka: Who deserves to be with Anwar? debate held at Karangkraf building, here.

The debate was live streamed across all Sinar Harian and Sinar Karangkraf platforms.

Also present is Kumpulan Karangkraf Deputy Chairman Datuk Muhamad Nasir Hamzah, Kumpulan Karangkraf Executive Director Akmal Eirfan Mohamed Fauzi, Sinar Harian Chief Executive Officer Farah Hussamuddin and Sinar Harian Editor-in-Chief Rozaid Rahman.

Rafizi said this is what he can offer to party members and there is a need for PKR to move in line with the voters are seeking.

“I am confident members of PKR will make the right choice,” he added.

In 2018, Rafizi had also challenged for the post but lost to Gombak MP Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, who then defected to Bersatu and contributed to the fall of the Pakatan Harapan government.

The choice is now up to more than 300,000 PKR members to choose their preferred nominee in the upcoming party election.
