SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 3,029 new Covid-19 cases yesterday (Friday), bringing the cumulative infections to 4,473,500.

The nation also recorded five new fatalities, the same day including one brought-in-dead (BID) case.

This has brought the death toll at 35,607 since the pandemic began.

A total of 1,311 Covid-19 patients were hospitalised of which 42 were in the intensive care unit (ICU) while 33 required ventilator support.

Selangor recorded the highest number of admissions yesterday with 157 patients followed by Johor (107) and Sabah (72).

Currently, there are 28,734 active cases with 27,358 undergoing home quarantine.
