SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 2,021 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 with one imported case, according to data published by the Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, 1,048 are still in hospital, with 39 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 24 patients requiring ventilator support.

The nation also recorded another three deaths due to Covid-19 with zero brought-in-dead (BID) cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 43,191 since the pandemic began.

Currently, there are 27,358 active cases with 26,980 (96.1 per cent) undergoing home quarantine.

Klang Valley and Selangor recorded the highest number of Covid-19 infections with 1,234 and 839 respectively in the last seven days.

The country has recorded 4,489,503 Covid-19 cases in total since the pandemic began.
