SHAH ALAM - Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong now says his ministry will carry out a "comprehensive plan" and will look at guidelines on the use of micromobility after banning it about a month ago.

In a statement, he said the government understands the important role that micromobility plays.

"A comprehensive plan and guidelines spanning various ministries, agencies and local councils is at the final stage of completion and will be unveiled shortly," he added.

This comes almost a week after former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak called on Putrajaya to facilitate the use of micromobility transportation instead of banning it.

He had said it can play an important tool as first mile and last mile connectivity, refering to the journey taken by the public on public transportation, including the LRT, KTM Komuter, monorail and MRT.
