SHAH ALAM – The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department saved a senior citizen trapped on the balcony as fire broke out in his house at Taman Seri Awana, Klang earlier today.

The department’s chief Norazam Khamis said they received a call on the incident at 4.29am and firemen from Sungai Pinang and Kota Raja stations were deployed to the scene.

“When the firemen got there, the fire had engulfed over 40 per cent of the two-storey terrace house.

“A man in his 60s was trapped on the balcony of the house and he was rescued by the team,” he said in a statement.

Norazam said the victim did not sustain any injuries.
