SHAH ALAM - In the battle to win the deputy president’s post for PKR, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has admitted defeat to Rafizi Ramli despite the official result yet to be released.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Saifuddin said although the result was not considered official, he would still like to extend his congratulations to Rafizi Ramli, Nik Nazmi, Chang Li Kang and other winners.

“I am very simple and transparent. I respect the final result that the party’s members have made.

“The democracy practice determines who is elected and who is not. Do not let this divide the relationship and be sure always to maintain the unity among party members,” he said in his post.

He also said that his job was still focused on organising the National Congress in June as it still needs to proceed in an orderly manner in accordance with the rules of the Societies Act 1966.

“For the next task... the new leadership should prepare the party to face GE15. Well done and congratulations to all,” he said, ending the post.

In the same development, Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad of PKR expressed his gratitude to Facebook to thank the voters upon the PKR election’s unofficial results announced yesterday.

He said he was grateful that the unofficial result indicated that he was chosen as one of the four vice presidents of PKR and defended the position as the Setiawangsa branch head.

“I would also like to congratulate Rafizi Ramli for being selected as the Deputy president, as well as Amirudin Shari, Chang Lih Kang and Aminuddin Harun who were also elected as the vice presidents,” he said on his Facebook.

He further said that with the coalition of Anwar Ibrahim and Rafizi Ramli, it would be the best ticket for PKR in the 15th General Election (GE15).
