KUALA LUMPUR – Barisan Nasional (BN) has yet to receive a letter of application from Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) to join the coalition.

The matter was confirmed by BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

"We have not received the application letter yet," he said at a press conference after the BN Convention Council at Dewan Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center today.

In the meantime, Ahmad Zahid said BN would consider choosing a candidate among the coalition parties (Friends of BN) to contest in the 15th General Election (GE15) later.

“The question asked is something that almost certainly cannot be confirmed now because it is not clear yet and we are not nearing the GE15 yet.

“BN is like siblings and that is why we will negotiate. They (Friends of BN) have helped many times in the by-elections and state elections.

"It is impossible that we would not give them any chance. I will consult with all component party's presidents and the five Umno leaders. We have discussed with the top five leaders about GE15 many times, " he said.
