KOTA BELUD - Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal claimed that Kukusan assemblyman Rina Jainal had signed "a document" and received a "reward" to leave the party.

He, however, said that the actions of the former Wirawati vice-chief did not weaken Warisan at all, especially in the Tawau and Kalabakan areas.

“I understand she (Rina) has signed (a document), but I do not know what it is.

“I don’t know how much she got, but that can’t be avoided.

"We are still strong in Tawau and Kalabakan. There are various measures they have taken to suppress, weaken Warisan. But Warisan is still strong," he said when met by reporters at the Kaamatan Warisan Open House at Dewan Kadamaian Square, here, on Sunday.

Rina announced earlier today that she had left Warisan to join Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (Harapan Rakyat).

Asked to comment further on the move, he said Rina will also receive the same fate as the five assemblymen who have left Warisan.

“We have indeed brought a few of them to court, we dragged them there because of the agreement we had stated to them, and their confession is needed.

“Doing that is definitely going to be an action we’re taking,” he said.

Five Warisan elected representatives have left the party since the 2020 Sabah state elections, namely Lahad Datu MP cum Segama assemblyman Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi, Melalap assemblyman Datuk Peter Anthony, Sebatik assemblyman Hassan A Gani Pg Amir, Sindumin assemblyman Yusof Yaacob, and Limbahau assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuatim.

Earlier, Sinar Daily reported that Rina left Warisan and wanted to focus on providing services to the people through Pakatan Harapan.
