SHAH ALAM - Several areas in Kuala Lumpur are hit by flash floods following two hours downpour just after midnight.

Among the locations affected were Jalan Ampang and Jalan Davis off Jalan Brunei which has since been temporarily closed to the public as of 2am.

Meanwhile, several other areas affected were Jalan Kampung Pandan and Jalan Cheras, with only one passable lane.

Other roads inundated by floodwaters but still accessible at the time of writing were Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Batu Bata, Jalan Changkat Thamby Dolah, Bulatan Merdeka, Jalan Maharajela and Jalan Cochrane.

According to the Kuala Lumpur police Facebook page, the teams were actively monitoring the areas and ensuring traffic were smooth sailing.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department issued a thunderstorm warning at about midnight with heavy rain and thunderstorms expected in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, and Pahang.
