KUALA LUMPUR - The loud roaring sound of 112 Lamborghini supercars could be heard from miles away in the streets of the city centre, today, setting a new Malaysian Book of Records entry for the largest gathering.

After nine years, members of the Lamborghini Owners Malaysia (LOM) assembled in front of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, here, the same location the gathering was last held in 2013.

It was held in conjunction with Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary.

In the previous event, the record involved 77 Lamborghini owners from Malaysia and Singapore which had also inducted Malaysia into the Malaysia Book of Records.

LOM president Roslan Rosdi said this milestone in the Lamborghini club’s history has marked their ode to the legendary automotive brand which celebrates beauty and performance, infused by an indomitable spirit.

“It took us three months to plan everything for the event.

“To garner all the Lamborghini owners was not hard at all because we have a club called ‘brotherhood', so we reached out to them through calls and messages,” he told Sinar Daily.

However, he said the event was also opened to non-members who owned a Lamborghini.

LOM organising chairman Rakesh Sachdev said he has been with the club for a couple of years and have worked very closely with the members as they were of the same mind, hence it was easier for them to see eye to eye on the things concerning the club.

Commenting further, he said he was satisfied with the turnout of Lamborghini owners and the crowd at the event.

“We had a fantastic turnout today and since this is a rare opportunity for all of us to get together, we are going to celebrate the members who made today happen in true Lamborghini spirit and style,” he said.

The event was then made official when the Malaysian Book of Records handed over a certificate confirming the new record.

A total of 112 Lamborghinis flagged off at about 1pm, from the city centre to Bukit Tinggi.

Rare Lamborghini models such as the Gallardo Malaysia Limited Edition (of which only 20 were ever produced) and Murcielago were spotted during the event amidst the modern standouts such as the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, Aventador SVJ and Urus SUV.

Partners for the event included Dr. SHEVA, Muscle Mania Club, Quantum Metal, Roger Dubuis, BarTheHood, The StarHill, Double Creative, The Marinis Group, Nextdor Property Communications, Tarbush Restaurant, XFactor Events, Big Ass Fans, DMY, Sauda Gold, EGLAF, Phatjuice, Chic Ole, Morion, Rhythm Productions, Vivo, WrapXpert, LFR and EliteSoft ODR.
