SHAH ALAM – Sinar Harian will continue to expand as a media platform that drives positive changes in Malaysia's future.

Karangkraf Group Executive Director Akmal Eirfan Mohamed Fauzi expressed confidence that Sinar Harian was able to expand via multiple mediums, not just newspaper publishing.

Sinar Harian, he said, had succeeded in increasing its presence in the newspaper publishing field in the country during its 16-year existence.

"Sinar Harian has lived up to its motto of 'transparent, sincere, and neutral' in bringing ideas, reading materials, and writing to the minds of Malaysian readers," he said at the handover ceremony of the winning check won during the National Journalist Day Award (Hawana) 2022 held at Kompleks Karangkraf yesterday.

At the ceremony, Karangkraf's Akmal Eirfan was presented with the winning cheque worth RM10,000 by Hawana 2020 Main Committee representative Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin.

Sinar Harian Group Editor-in-Chief Rozaid Rahman, Karangkraf Book Group Chief Executive Officer Firdaus Hussamuddin and Karangkraf Group Special Tasks Senior Manager Hashim Anang were also present during the ceremony.

The Hawana 2022 Award was presented to Karangkraf on May 29 at the Hawana celebration summit in Melaka, which was also attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The winners were chosen from media firms that demonstrated exceptional work, in-depth, quality, and impactful concerns in the previous year.
