KOTA KINABALU - The 2022 Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Convention scheduled to be held on Saturday will be a platform to strengthen the solidarity of the BN component parties in the state.

BN Sabah Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the convention expected to garner around 5,000 attendees would witness the strength of the coalition of parties which also gave a large contribution to the state government during the last state election.

He said the convention could be the final meeting of the party before facing the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).

"Therefore, BN members especially those attending the convention needs to make full benefits of the meet and discuss issues that are relevant towards the party's goal, looking at all of BN's plans in preparing for the upcoming GE15," he said in a statement today.

The Sabah Umno chief also said BN is a political coalition that needed the leadership and machinery from all of party components to be united in facing GE15.

"Even though we only have four parties in the component of Sabah BN, we need one another to continue supporting the current government.

"BN needs to take the approach of strengthening the relationship of internal leaders and unite all the machinery in all levels before facing GE15 which will take place at any time," he said.

He said the preparations were very important, not only from the elections machineries but also the works involved being different than previous elections.
