PENAMPANG - Barisan Nasional (BN) Advisory Board chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the prime minister was not under attack, adding that the attacks could be from ministers who are not in Umno.

Najib further said BN still fully supports Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has the prime minister.

"We from this party do not attack the prime minister. We support Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri as the prime minister," Najib told reporters at a function in Sabah.

Yesterday, Ismail Sabri said that he is a prime minister from Barisan Nasional, and therefore an attack against him would also be an attack on the coalition's leadership. He added that he has been at the receiving end of brickbats from many parties and that he had to fend off speculations on many occasions, even from his own side of the political divide.

Meanwhile, BN Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said BN needs unity to ensure victory in the 15th General Elections.

"After all, stability is our 'tagline'. It is stability for the sake of prosperity, no one is attacking BN.

"In fact, we acknowledged during a recent BN Supreme Council meeting that the prime minister is the 'poster boy' for elections," he said.

Mohamad or commonly known as Tok Mat said it clearly shows the party wants "calmness" to ensure victory.

"The party's policy is clear that is we recommend that our poster boy Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri is with us to face the elections," he said.
