Covid-19: 3,589 cases, six deaths in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 3,589 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's Covidnow website.

This is a slight drop from Thursday’s 4,020 number of Covid-19 cases.

The number of cases has consistently been above the 2,000 marker since July started, with 2,773 cases on July 1, followed by 2,527 (July 2) and slightly increased to 2,536 on July 3.

However, cases dropped to 1,918 on Monday (July 4) but later further increased to 2,932 (July 5); 3,561 (July 6) and jumped to 4,020 on July 7.

There were six deaths reported yesterday bringing the death toll to 35,801 since the pandemic began.

Currently, there were 35,198 active cases with 33,888 (96.3 percent) undergoing home quarantine.

The ministry also recorded 2,224 recoveries yesterday.

To date, Malaysia has recorded 4,589,911 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
