SHAH ALAM - PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli is campaigning for 26 candidates for the 20-member Central Leadership Council polls taking place this weekend.

Despite listing 26 names and their backgrounds in a Facebook post, he clarified that he still welcomed all candidates for the position with an open attitude.

He said he had done proper research in regards to the advantages the 26 listed could bring to the party.

“I took an open attitude and celebrated everyone who competed.

“That’s why I took some time to research the advantages and roles that the candidates can play before I announce the list. I am confident it can propel the party after this,” he said in the post. He said candidates should be those who clearly reject the big tent concept, have their respective expertise that can be used to build party strength as well as those who have never been tainted with episodes that bring problems to the party.

“We should stay away from the culture of elevating leaders who just want to fill positions but do not work or have no idea how to improve the party.

“Also, avoid voting for candidates who have conspired with individuals or groups who have betrayed the party, or groups that carry a culture of bullying or gangsterism that has been rejected by party members recently,” he added.
