SHAH ALAM - The Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations (AKM) Tour in Kelantan received great response from the public since the three-day event kicked off with around 70,000 to 80,000 visitors.

The event held from July 22 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bahru involved programmes by 26 ministries in line with the government’s wish to strengthen the digitalisation in the country.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the response from the people in the state exceeded their target of 50,000 visitors.

He said having drawn response from the people was a great achievement and that the goal of sharing information on the aspirations of the Malaysian family has been successfully achieved.

“People will be closer and know what programmes or activities are carried out by each ministry and agency.

“I think with a more informed society, it would be easier for the government to improve the effectiveness of delivering its services to the people,” he said during an interview with Kelantan FM, today.

He said it was important for the government to always listen to the people’s complaints and understand how they were feeling.

He said this was what the people wanted from the government.

“The government led by Datuk Seri Sabri Ismail Yaakob is simple, with the philosophy of putting the people first, and the aspirations of the Malaysian Family stem from that,” he said.

Annuar said the tour was important for the government to continue focusing on the agenda of performing their responsibilities for the people.

“That is why this tour is important.

“The government continues its focus on what the people need and gather information from the people as our priority is serving the people.

“This is what I think is important and it has been achieved with the cooperation of the federal government, the state government, the stadium corporation, and the Kota Bharu city council,” he said.

He said the beauty of the country was that it did not have strict protocols and leaders could be close with the people.

“In other countries, with the police and guards surrounding the leaders, it is difficult for the people to even come close to them,” he said.

He also thanked the visitors who came for the tour which exceeded his expectation.
