Malaysia records 4,759 new Covid-19 cases, nine deaths

SHAH ALAM – Malaysia records a total of 4,759 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative figure for positive cases in Malaysia to 4,659,710.

Out of the 4,759 new infections, three were imported cases.

Based on the Covidnow website, nine deaths were recorded, including three brought in dead cases, bringing the total number of deaths to 35,932 since the pandemic began.

The health ministry also revealed that a total of 4,806 patients had recovered and discharged, bringing the cumulative figure for recoveries to 4,577,518 as of now.

Currently, there were 46,260 active cases with 96.6 per cent of patients, or 44,708 individuals being quarantined at home, 1,477 patients hospitalised and a total of 28 patients who required ventilation support.

Based on the new cases reported, Kuala Lumpur recorded 1,840 cases, followed by Selangor (1,447) and Perak (223).
