Covid-19: Health Ministry records rapid increase of 4,860 new cases for Covid-19

SHAH ALAM - The nation recorded 11 new fatalities related to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, recording a total of 35,956 deaths.

The country also saw rapid increase in this week with 4,860 new Covid-19 positive cases, in which 4,849 were local cases and 11 were imported cases in the last 24 hours.

There were currently 1,014 new active cases, bringing the total number of cases to 4,672,999 since the pandemic began.

Malaysia has suffered a total of 35,956 fatalities as a result of Covid-19.

In comparison to other states in the country, Klang Valley has the most Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with an average of 2,608 cases.

Meanwhile, Klang Valley and Selangor also have the highest number of deaths caused by Covid-19 with the recorded amount of 32 and 27 deaths respectively in the last 14 days.

In terms of vaccination rate, Klang Valley continues to lead with 100.8 percent, followed by Penang and Negeri Sembilan with 90.8 percent and 89.9 percent, respectively.
