SHAH ALAM - Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his former deputy Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should receive a fair trial in their involvement for the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and Yayasan Akalbudi scandals.

Bersatu Youth Chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal also expressed hope that the two - part of the political court clusters, settle their trials before the 15th General Election takes place.

He also commented that his party had no personal vendetta with Umno but just disagree with how Najib and Zahid was being seen as leaders or heroes.

“We don't have any personal vendetta with Umno, it's just that we disagree with the way they propped up convicted people, such as their former and current president.

“This does not only go against political stands, but also against Malay-Muslims,” he told Sinar Daily recently.

When asked to comment on Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s claims that Zahid was unfit to lead the party and should resign respectfully, he said he was not in the position to comment much on it since he was not part of Umno.

The decisions, he said should be made among themselves.

“If Datuk Seri Tajuddin as the oldest and most senior party member claims as such, I believe Umno members should debate about this.
