2,783 new Covid-19 cases, nine deaths in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - The nation records nine new fatalities due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 35,969 since the pandemic began.

According to the CovidNow portal, the country recorded 2,783 new Covid-19 positive cases, of which 2,780 were local and three were imported cases in the last 24 hours.

The total number of cases since the pandemic began was at 4,680,053.

At the moment, there were 43,753 (96.6 per cent) individuals who weer home quarantined.

Out of the total, 1,477 individuals were admitted to the hospital, with 54 of them in the intensive care unit (ICU).

From the number, 32 of them required breathing assistance.

In comparison to other states in the country, Klang Valley has the most Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with an average of 2,537 cases.

Meanwhile, Klang Valley and Selangor also have the highest number of deaths caused by Covid-19 with 30 and 25 deaths recorded respectively in the last 14 days.
