SHAH ALAM - PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said he will reveal the misappropriation of funds in the littoral combat ship (LCS) project worth RM9 billion.

Taking to his Facebook, he said he will show the irregularities that took place within a month, including fake companies that were allegedly set up to launder money.

"The modus operandi is the same as 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

"Let him answer how the national defense became weak when he was prime minister, all this time he has been slandering that everyone is selling national assets," he added.

Rafizi was responding to a post by Najib who claimed that PH had halted the project after taking over Putrajaya in 2018, and delaying the construction of the ships.

But Rafizi said: "I have read the spin #SayaPutarJib written by admin Najib Razak to wash his hands off the RM9 billion warship scandal.

"Najib's spin is very weak this time. God willing, this time the prime minister of Facebook will be hit because he cannot run away from the warship scandal.

"In the end, it will come to get back to him," said Rafizi.

On August 4, PAC chairman Wong Kah Woh said in a statement that the maritime force's views as end users of the vessels were not taken into account, which led to the original Sigma design chosen by the Navy being changed to the Gowind design on July 11, 2011, following a suggestion by Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BNS), the project contractor to the minister of defence on July 8, 2011.

The committee also found that the contract for the LCS project was awarded to BNS through direct negotiations, according to Wong.

Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was the defence minister from 2009 to 2013 while Najib was the prime minister from 2009 to 2018.
