Jakim identifies Hadi Minallah’s location, Jawi to investigate

PUTRAJAYA – The Islamic Development Department Malaysia (Jakim) has identified the main centre of deviated teachings Hadi Minallah.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Idris Ahmad said the information was channelled to the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) for further action.

“We got Hadi Minallah’s profile yesterday and I immediately contacted Jawi,” he said in a press conference after he officiated the first Election Meeting of Council Members of Syarie Lawyers of the Federal Territory in Islamic Complex Malaysia, here today.

Idris said as the state authority, it is under Jawi’s jurisdiction to contain the spread of the deviant teachings.

He was responding to reports that the spread of the religious teachings which were said to be active in specific locations in the country.

Hadi Minallah’s teaching was also active in spreading deviated teachings through the online video sharing platform, YouTube.

Based on the viral video, a man claimed to be the founder of the teaching, Wayang Hadi Kesumo or Hadi Minallah Aminnullah Ahmad was identified as an Indonesian.

While reviewing the various contents that contradicted Islamic teachings on YouTube, Idris encouraged the public to report the channel to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

“Jakim is only the coordinator but we have no power.

“The power source comes from report to MCMC and if it is conducted physically, it is under the jurisdiction of the state’s religious authority,” he said.

When asked how long Hadi Minallah had been in the country, Idris said that matter was still being investigated.

“We have no information, Jawi will investigate,” he said.
