KLFW founder calls for models to come forth to resolve payment issues

In a report by The Vibes, KLFW founder Andrew Tan addressed the issue on backdated payments for models and emphasised that the operation relies on the efficacy of payment terms, including the participating partner's end.
According to Tan, they’ve had to deal with payment delays from clients for up to a year or so.
However, as the organiser, it was imperative for them to come up with a compromise to ensure certain agreements are met, he said.
He went on to say that models can't claim that they do not get paid at all. "We may be late, but we do and will pay.
“People love to spat and say what they want to say but I would advise models (or others in related fields) dealing with payment issue to come forth.
“Don’t go behind or bringing up the matter to irrelevant parties without resolving the concern directly with us,” he added.
Tan also denied allegations where local designers are supposedly charged to be part of the show.
“We have never charged designers. I myself would go knocking on the doors of potential sponsors just so that the event is able to be funded in its entirety,” he said.
KLFW 2022 is due to take centre stage at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, on Aug 17 to 21.
