4,896 Covid cases, 12 deaths in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - The nation recorded 4,896 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with 18 deaths, according to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow portal.

Out of the 12 deaths, six were brought-in-dead (BID), bringing the total to 36,056 deaths.

Currently, there are 1,905 active cases, bringing the total number of cases to 4,719,394 since the pandemic began.

Klang Valley reported the highest number of infections with 2,164 cases in the last 24 hours.

Klang Valley and Selangor also recorded the highest number of deaths caused by Covid-19 with 23 and 17 deaths respectively in the last 14 days, recording a slight decrease from the past few days.

In terms of vaccination rate, Klang Valley continues to lead with 100.9 percent, followed by Penang and Negeri Sembilan with 90.8 percent and 90.0 percent, respectively.
