SHAH ALAM - Sinar Harian will be the official media partner for the eighth Malaysia #QuranHour themed "Malaysia Prostrates: Malaysian family stands together".

The theme for this event invited leaders and the public to scrap their sense of pride and arrogance but in turn build a virtuous and caring nation.

Sinar Harian Group Editor-in-Chief Rozaid Abdul Rahman shared his views on the upcoming Malaysia #QuranHour held in conjunction with the 65th Independence Day by lifting the Surah Al-Sajadah as the surah of choice.

"Arrogance is a part of human nature. Today's effects of human arrogance become news and content in various media platforms.

"Therefore, we must return to the Quran to subjugate the arrogance and selfishness in each of us.

"The Surah Al-Sajadah carries the formula of prostration and 'infak' inviting us to be obedient and submissive servants of Allah," he said.

He added that Malaysia #QuranHour encourages ummah to return to the nature of humans born purely with the guidance of the Quran in life.

The following reference was the As-Sunna surah indicated by the Prophet PBUH practically.

"We prostrate in our prayers to build a sense of humility and tawaduk.

"When we prostrate, we are encouraged to ask for forgiveness from Allah and to be blessed with a halal living.

"Prostrating in the heart is also important in all deeds," he said.

In the meantime, Rozaid highlighted the efforts of Rasuah Busters to tackle corruption in line with the #QuranHour to return to the Quran.

"The Islamic religion forbids us to fall into corruption. The results of non-halal living used to provide for the family enters and absorbed by the body.

"When corruption is made to be a standard practice, it will not be seen as something that is wrong.

"Rasuah is a big offence as we are taking what is not rightfully ours and going against religion and ruining the country.

"For example, the issue of the malpractice related to the six littoral combat ships (LCS) for the use of the Royal Malaysian Navy," he said.

Rozaid said that based on Surah Al-Sajadah, prostration and infak could be the solution to overcome the issue of corruption as a disgusting offence.

"We infak in the form of ringgit and wealth to cleanse ourselves from sin.

"Sinar Harian supports the #QuranHour and Rasuah Busters campaign to invite the community back to the Quran," he said.

Malaysia #QuranHour would be held simultaneously across the country from 12 to 1pm on Aug 30, or equivalent to 2 Safar 1444H.
