PUTRAJAYA - Political parties would not be allowed to receive funds from local or foreign government-linked companies (GLC), said Law Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said.

He said these are some of the guidelines suggested in the Political Funding Bill.

"We also discussed over funds contributed from companies that receive government contracts," he said during a press conference at his office, here today.

Previously, he had said the bill was the government's own initiative to boost transparency, governance and accountability.

Political funding, or political financing, refers to how political parties and individual politicians raise money during elections.
