DAP Founder Dr Chen Man Hin dies

SEREMBAN - DAP founding member and chairman, Dr Chen Man Hin has died. He was 97.

The news was shared by Rasah MP, Cha Kee Chin on his Facebook page.

When contacted by Sinar Harian, he said he receved the news from family members.

"The deceased had five children and was understood to have passed away peacefully surrounded by his family," he said.

DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng was also saddened by Chen's passing.

He wrote on Facebook: “On the way to Seremban from Penang to express our heartfelt condolences to his family. Rest in peace."

Chen was the DAP Chairman since 1966 to 1999 and was elected as the first lifetime advisor to the party.

He was the Rahang MP from 1965 to 1982 and also served as Seremban Timor MP from 1969 to1974 and Seremban MP from 1974 to 1982 and 1983 to 1990.
