Covid-19: 3,490 new cases, six deaths, yesterday

SHAH ALAM – Malaysia recorded 3,490 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, a drop from 4,071 cases recorded the day before.

Out of the number of infections yesterday, three were imported cases.

Klang Valley continued to have the largest number of cases with Selangor recording 1,087 cases, Kuala Lumpur, 744 cases and Putrajaya, 85 cases.

Six Covid-19 fatalities were recorded yesterday.

According to the CovidNow website, the number of deaths were reported in Selangor and Melaka with two cases each, and in Johor and Pahang with one death each.

Currently there were 42,767 active cases.

From the number, 41,212 were under home quarantine, 26 placed at Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRC), 1,454 hospitalised, while 30 were in the intensive care units (ICU) and 45 required ventilator support.
