Umno emergency meeting expected to end late night

KUALA LUMPUR - Umno emergency meeting that started this morning is expected to end at night as Umno leaders take a break for lunch.

The meeting is expected to resume at 5.30pm today, said Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin who was at the meeting at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) today.

“The meeting dicussed on current issues.

“I will come back at 5.30pm,” he told the media when met at Umno headquarters here.

Eventhough, he said the meeting is on "current issues" but it is speculated that over 100 Umno division chiefs are discussing over the timing of general elections as former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak faces his last week of his final appeal over misappropriation of funds involving SRC International case.

The meeting was said to be "urgent and immediate".

Last night, Najib had taken an oath to swear his innocence over the SRC case. If convicted, Najib will be sentenced to a 12 years’ jail and a RM210 million fine.
