KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 158 Umno division chiefs unanimously decide to hold the 15th General Election (GE15) immediately, a division chief claims.

Sungai Besar Umno division chief Datuk Jamal Md Yunos said the division chiefs reached a unanimous agreement as they attended the special meeting which discussed their needs and preparation for GE1 today.

“A total of 158 division chiefs were present today, and there were some who could not make it since it was a last-minute meeting.

"The reason we were told to attend was to discuss the preparedness of our election machinery at every division that may be held anytime.

“The decision from the meeting was that we decided unanimously that we want GE15 held as soon as possible and this decision will be informed to the Prime Minister,” he said when met by the media representatives.

He refuted claims that the discussion today discussed on pressuring Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob to dissolve the Parliament.

Earlier, it was reported that a special meeting was held by Umno since 11am this morning at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), here.
