SHAH ALAM - The Federal Court's decision against former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak regarding the RM42 million misappropriation of funds belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd is a victory for the country's democratic system.

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the decision was a warning to all political leaders not to abuse the power and mandate of the people for their own benefit.

"Today is a day of victory for Malaysians who dared to make changes on May 9, 2018.

"Even the most powerful person, that is, the Prime Minister, can be overthrown by the people and face the judgment of the court.

"A new beginning for Malaysia," he said in a post on his official Facebook on Tuesday.

In the meantime, DAP Social Media Bureau chairman Syahredzan Johan said that the results had proved that the people's votes in the 14th General Election (GE14) in 2018 were no longer in vain.

“Remember today. Remember that if you hadn't voted for change, we wouldn't be here today.

"Remember, your vote in 2018 is not in vain. Thank you Malaysians," he said in a post on Twitter.
