Melaka NGOs joins the anti-corruption programme movement

MELAKA - The newly formed Melaka State Rasuah Busters gives a breath of fresh air to NGOs in the state to band together against corruption.

Its chairman Datuk Isnin Aman said with the Rasuah Busters team in Melaka, it becomes a starting point in expressing their commitment and determination regardless of background and age, for the sake of saving the younger generation from corruption.

According to him, it is not a simple matter however, the efforts could at least reduce the corruption culture in the daily lives of the community.

"We realise that many people on average are talking about corruption now, so as the public we are worried with what is happening in the country.

"Hopefully a movement such as this will provide awareness for us all to come together in the war against corruption," he said to Sinar Harian after the Melaka State Rasuah Busters meeting in Asam Pedas Lagenda Restaurant at Jalan Lagenda here recently.

He further explained that through the state level committee, it will be able to execute programmes towards a generation free of corruption.

"Rasuah Busters allies in the state will band together with the same purpose, even if we do not remove it completely we would raise integrity," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman Ashwad Abd Rahim said Rasuah Busters is a platform best for instilling the spirit of transparency in our daily lives, cultivate moral values at the grassroot level.

"This is a platform for us to guide and shape them with our ways of facing corruption whether in the situation of giving or receiving bribes.

"My hopes is to maintain the main objective of Rasuah Busters and we'll increase our members to move our work in fighting corruption for the sake of the state and citizen is achieved," he said.

In the meeting, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) lecturer Dr Al Amin Mohamad Sultan was elected as Secretary and Kamarulzaman Rahman as the Assistant Secretary.
