SERDANG - Gerakan President Dominic Lau Hoe Chai urges all Perikatan Nasional (PN) members to gain vote and trust among Malaysians for the high possibility of making the PN chairman as the next Prime Minister.

Lau Hoe Chai said it was not easy to achieve this dream as PN needed to get the mandate, support and votes from all levels of Malaysians hence it was only possible if everyone get their hands together.

"Perikatan Nasional stands strong as we have 12 ministers in this party including two senior ministers and three Menteri Besar in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.

"Not only that, we also have one Chief Minister in Sabah, 18 vice-president, 22 senators in Dewan Negara, 48 MPs in Dewan Rakyat and 143 state legislatures members across the country.

"For me, these numbers are not enough so I urge all PN members to gain more votes from all levels of Malaysians so that we can take over the government and make Muhyiddin Yassin as our 10th Prime Minister," he said at the 2022 PN Convention and the 2nd PN Anniversary celebration at the Serdang Malaysia Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS).

Loud cheers erupted in the room signalling an agreed consensus to make Muhyiddin as the next prime minister.

Lau added Malaysians lived in a diverse country with various races and the division of races should not separate one another.

"The Federal Constitutions in Article 2 states that Islam is the official religion in Malaysia, we agreed and respected that but also remember that in Article 11 it also highlights the freedom of religion, therefore, we respect everyone," he insisted.

Meanwhile, Bersatu vice president Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin said Muhyiddin should be given the whole term to serve as prime minister so that he could deliver a biggher impact to the people.

“He (Muhyiddin) served for a year and five months but within that period, we had an amazing track record.

“Among the political party coalition in Malaysia, PN eventually left a significant impact on the coalition within the Federal level, especially for Sabah and Sarawak.

“During that time also, we didn’t face only an economical crisis, but also a health crisis. You can search in history book and we could find everyone had experience in managing an economic crisis, at least once in 10 years," he said.

Radzi added it was a big challenge to manage a country during a hard time but many efforts were seen from Muhyiddin's tenure as the prime minister.
