PUTRAJAYA - The Mandate for the Civil Service Ceremony (Mappa) which took place at 10am is expected to become the centre of attention of 1.6 million civil servants nationwide.

This was because Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri will announce good news for the civil servants.

The good news could be a windfall for civil servants who were the backbone of the government particularly in their struggle in providing the best services to the public.

It was previously reported that Ismail Sabri said when the country was facing the Covid-19 pandemic, there were many heartbreaking stories about healthcare workers who had sacrificed to fight the virus.

He said their services and sacrifices as the unsung heroes will continue to be engraved in history.

Meanwhile, Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) president Adnan Mat said he submitted the minimum wage claims and the increase in fixed remuneration for the public services as an improvement.

The suggestion was said to be seen as giving a sense of relief for civil servants especially with the rise in the cost of living.
