Covid-19: 2,340 new cases, six deaths in the last 24 hour

SHAH ALAM – Yesterday, Malaysia recorded 2,340 new cases of Covid-19, an increase over the 2,144 cases reported the day before.

Out of the number of infections yesterday, two were imported cases.

Klang Valley continued to have the largest number of cases with 1,255 cases followed by others with Selangor recording 733 cases, Kuala Lumpur, 478 cases and Sabah, 237 cases.

The nation also recorded another six deaths due to Covid-19 with one brought-in-dead (BID) case yesterday, bringing the total death toll to 43,912 since the pandemic began

According to CovidNow portal, currently there were 30,911 active cases.

From the number, 29,604 were under home quarantine, 17 were placed at Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres, 1,301 hospitalised while 27 were in the intensive care units (ICU) and 42 required ventilator support.

So far, Malaysia recorded a total of 4,782,624 Covid-19 infections since the pandemic began.
