Covid-19: Health Ministry records 1,486 cases, four deaths in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - The nation records 1,486 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow portal.

Among those, 1,484 were local cases and two were imported cases.

Currently, the total number of cases had been 4,792,942 since the pandemic began.

Malaysia has suffered a total of 36,249 deaths as a result of Covid-19, with four new deaths including one brought-in-dead (BID) in the last 24 hours.

In comparison to other states in the country, Klang Valley has had the most Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with an average of 1,046 cases.

Meanwhile, Klang Valley and Selangor also recorded the highest number of deaths caused by Covid-19 with recorded amount of 17 and 14 deaths respectively in the last 14 days, recording a slight decrease from the past few days.

In terms of vaccination rate, Klang Valley continues to lead with 101.0 percent, followed by Penang and Negeri Sembilan with 90.9 percent and 90.1 percent, respectively.
